If you are a cat parent, then you must have likely wondered at one point or another whether you ought to allow them to go outside. Indeed, there's an entire discussion about indoor cats and whether they ought to be left to go outside.
You realize it may very well be dangerous, so you’re just there trying to come up with safe solutions that will benefit your adorable outdoor-loving feline. But then, it's difficult to come up with a perfect solution.
In any case, there are a few of us who are sufficiently devoted to really constructing a space outside for our cats, and the individual in today’s story is one of them. He constructed a "cat prison" which he calls AlCatRaz, and frankly, our attention is somewhat fixated on it.
Yes, we have seen the hysterical trickeries of taking felines on a stroll, and we have seen our precious indoor cats' reactions whenever they are going outside for the first time in a long time, and of course, we want our furry friends to experience much more often! They can relax in the sun, they can play with bugs, and they can do whatever they feel like.
Now that sounds like a wonderful life for these kitties! So we, as much as everyone who has come across this ‘cat prison', thank this person for sharing his creation because it's just purrfect.
Not only did this pawrent construct this creative piece for his cat, he also went ahead to give a well-detailed explanation of how he achieved this feat.
"I was asked multiple times to give some information about how I built it. So here we go. Actually, there's not that much work involved. As you see above, my little space has a wall on the boundary. As I rent, I can not drill in there. Basically, I used two boards, three aluminium profiles, the cat net and some attachment material."
"My little space has a wall on the boundary"
MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepThe aluminium profiles above are 2m in length so as to "raise the area above the fence height so that I can comfortably stand there. They are attached to the fence with (strong) zip ties."

MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepThe picture above shows the top, which he drilled in 6mm holes and fixed a hook in. He also mentioned that the back side has a nut holding it.
A hook is fixed right here
MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepAbove, he put this guide rope inside the hooks as "this is woven through the net at the appropriate height. It goes around once completely."
Inside the hooks, this guide rope is installed
MoepMoepMoepMoepMoep"At the other end, there is a small space where no fence or wall is. I fixed another shorter profile here, on the right side with a zip tie and on the left with a screw through the board."

MoepMoepMoepMoepMoep"That is the screw. It's fixed to the board with multiple nuts."
MoepMoepMoepMoepMoep"The board itself is fixed with these small metal strips. The screw is fixed to the board with nuts and to the metal strips as well."
MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepHere's a good view of it
MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepThe side boards are a no drill zone, and he used these "clamps (designed for putting lamps somewhere). They are aluminium casts. The net is wiggled around this and the guide rope mentioned before is affixed to the top ones as well."

MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepHere, the guide rope is coming in from the left, and "this part might be improved in the future, if the cats start trying to test this."

MoepMoepMoepMoepMoep"From the guide rope, the net goes upward to the upper balcony. Here it was a little tricky. Some fixing the net to the pole thingies there in combination with another woven in guide rope."

MoepMoepMoepMoepMoepFinally, the image below is the bottom, which is fixed with (small) zip ties so that the cats won’t be able to wiggle in there. "The fence is actually tight enough so they don't fit through, so theoretically I could have used less net here."
