Stray dogs are a huge problem in the United States. In the deep South, in particular, there are sadly many dogs wandering the streets hungry and in need of healthcare.
So, dog owners need to be responsible and ensure that their pets are spayed to prevent further stray pups from ending up on the streets. Reddit user u/These-Grocery-9387 recently shared a story in the AITA (Am I The A**hole?) subreddit, about wanting to take matters into her own hands concerning her cousin's unspayed dog.
The Redditor explained that her cousin found a dog on the street, which she decided to keep when no one came forward to claim it. When the cousin mentioned that her new dog was in heat, the OP offered her a coupon to have the dog spayed.
However, the OP's cousin said she doesn't want to have the dog spayed. Rather, she wants to breed the dog so that she can sell the puppies.
The OP says the dog is at least six-years-old, and her cousin has never taken her to the vet. The Redditor said she is concerned that the dog could be carrying all kinds of parasites from her time living on the street.
But OP's cousin doesn't want to hear of it. Apparently, she thinks breeding the dog will be an easy way to make money.
The Reddit user said that she had seen the dog running loose outside and asked her cousin if she was still in heat. Her cousin said she was, and she was hoping the dog would fall pregnant.
The OP said she's convinced that her cousin doesn't care about this dog at all, and she is considering kidnapping the dog to have her spayed. She said it would be easy to take her, have her spayed, and then return her a week later without her cousin asking any questions.
But would she be an a**hole for doing that? Keep scrolling to find out what the Reddit community had to say about it.

Reddit/SwirlyflurryWhat's your take on this situation? Do you think the OP is out of line by planning to take the dog herself, or is she doing the right thing under the circumstances?
Either way, we just hope the dog is okay. Animals are not money-making schemes.
