Everyone loves a good feel-good doggo story; so get ready to have your day made. Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England is an organisation that helps to train rescue dogs so they can help rescue people who are lost or missing in the countryside.
The Search and Rescue Dog Association was founded in Scotland in1965, after Hamish MacInnes attended an International Red Cross Search Dog course in Switzerland. MacInnes saw the potential for the skills he learnt from training avalanche search dogs to be used in finding lost walkers in the UK countryside. They recently posted a video, which shows one of the training exercises.
Volunteers go out and hide in the countryside and wait for the dogs to find them.
It's one of the best training exercises for the dogs.
Welcome. Our volunteers attend about 132 days of training per year taking 2-3 years to grade their dog. Our wonderful volunteer dogsbodies hide on hillsides in all weathers for our dogs to find. We're on call 24/365 No government money, we're funded by kind public donations. 🐶🐕 pic.twitter.com/V6wch0GsO0

The dogs are trained to search for people who may be buried in the snow.

Here's a picture one of the volunteer bodies being found!
The photo of Flo is way cuter than this photo I took while hiding for #SAR teams this past weekend. Foxy isn’t trying to eat me. She is alerting that she found me. pic.twitter.com/QFjCVvmI3n
