Today Is The Purr-fect Day To Celebrate These Senior Kitties

When it comes to our pets, how long they enrich our lives is an important factor. Dogs are complicated, there are a multitude of factors that help decide the average lifespan of a dog from their breed to their weight. Cats are not so complicated. Most indoor cats will live anywhere from 12 to 18 years, with the specific median age being 15.1 years.

So, yes, some cats have their lives tragically cut short, but a lot of cats live well into their twenties! Truthfully, even if they don't live as long as the world's oldest cat on record (his name was Creme Puff and according to Guinness World Records he was 38 years and 3 days old when he passed away.)

Celebrating birthdays is something us pet-parents love to do for our "fur-babies," and each milestone is worthy, but today we really want to celebrate the senior cats, breaking the mold, and enriching the lives of humans for decades.

"My beloved cat is turning 20 today. She lives with my parents, and I’m driving over to congratulate her.”

She doesn't look a day over 12.

"This lady still looks fantastic at the age of 23!"

She looks like she's rough-tough-stuff, all balled up into sweet, cozy goodness.

“7 years ago, I decided to adopt the cheapest cat in the shelter. This guy proved to be the best $10 I’ve ever spent. Meet Hank, age 12!”

Hank, you're purr-fect.

“This 14-year-old beauty is named Marceline. I love her with all my heart!”

Marceline, you're a divine vision.

“Meet Abby! She’s 22. She can barely meow nowadays, and a bit of her left ear is missing. But she’s still the cutest cat on earth!’’

Quiet, serene... Abby is 22 years of love.

“My Japanese friend’s cat has just turned 15.”

This is how you celebrate in style.

"Jane is 14 years old and still gorgeous."

Jane is clearly still over-flowing with the spunk of her youth.

“Not many farm cats live to be 18, but Carrot is among the lucky few!”

Who is truly lucky? Carrot, or the humans who have loved him for 18 years?

“We’ve lost count, but this cat must be over 20 years old. She’s always been a bit wayward, but she used to purr whenever I’d pet her as a child.”

Definitely over 20, but how much? No clue. No worries, she's purr-fect in every way.

"This is my senior kitty Ducati, she’s 20 years old, and although she sleeps a lot she still rules the house!"
