Oh, how fast puppies grow! One moment they are tiny bundles of joy that can't stop chewing everything and the next moment they are big old boys lazing around the house, too lazy to do anything.
Yup, that's life and it goes by so fast that we don't even realize what we are doing half the time. One day we will rub our eyes and poof we are old people sitting on a bench drinking awful herbal tea to keep all our pains at bay.
But enough about the future and more about puppies! Yes, they grow fast and you need to enjoy their naughty phase while you can and take as many photos as you possibly can. That's what Danielle Schweiger and her husband did with their pup.
They welcomed little Akita also known as Bear into the family and they knew things would have to change because they have a brand new responsibility on their hands. Danielle knew that little Akita will become a big teddy bear, but she didn't think it was going to happen this fast.
FacebookThe Schweigers really wanted to capture their pup's quick transformation from puppy to a big fluffy teddy bear, so they decided to start a photography project where they captured every moment of his growth spurts.
"We thought it was a creative and cute way to show that he’s our baby no matter how big he is," Danielle said. "It has been an incredible ongoing sight to watch nonetheless."
It all started with a photo of 10-month-old Bear in Danielle's arms and slowly but surely he got a bit heavier.
They decided to take the photos monthly in the same position and you can see at three months little Bear was almost as big as Danielle.
And well, at six months you wouldn't say it's the same doggie.
When Danielle looks back at the photos now she is amazed by how fast her pup grew, "These past six months have flown by — it goes too fast — but that is what makes it all the more precious."
And she's not the only one getting used to Bear's size, "He is COMPLETELY unaware of his size. He constantly knocks me over or tries to fit in my lap!"
Even though Bear looks bigger and more intimidating he is still the kind gentle soul they brought home the very first day.
"What we have enjoyed the most is watching Bear grow into his incredible personality," she said. "We feel incredibly blessed to have a noble protector, loving family member, and all-around best friend."
