Jenny Jinya is known for her emotional comics that never have happy endings. She always picks the most touching subjects such as animal cruelty and neglect, death, or the afterlife, where she tries to educate people and shed more light on the issues.
Jenny's comics are quite powerful. She previously resealed some equally touching comics featuring a black cat, a circus elephant, a sea bird, a circus lion and dogs in fighting rings.
The German illustrator decided to surprise her fans this time by doing something completely new. She announced it on Twitter a few days ago saying: “By popular request, I have now tried a ‘happy’ comic,”. She even admitted that she “ was worried that [her] readers might be a little exhausted,”
Jenny is aware of the fact that her comics are not easy to take at all. “I know that and I read a lot about how close they get to people.” Which is why she added that she wanted “to try and give her fans something that would cheer them up” and not sadden them.
That's how she came up with the idea for this fox comic strip, which is her first-ever “happy” one. Jenny was unsure whether “people would like this new approach, especially by introducing the new character ‘Life.'” However, she was excited to try out something completely new.
In fact, the new character “Life” was inspired by the Reaper. Jenny felt sorry for him since he's unfortunate to have “a sad and lonely job.” Jenny explained: “Although he has a friendly and gentle nature, he often gets blamed for everything and encounters hostility.”
It’s important to realize that the Reaper too “belongs to the circle of life.” In reality, “If anyone understands and appreciates him,” Jenny said, “it is life itself.”
