Woman Shames Old Man For Having Tattoo, Only To Discover That He's A Holocaust Survivor Who Was Marked In A Concentration Camp

The holocaust remains one of the worst cases of human violence in the world.

During it, about six million Jews across German-occupied Europe were recorded dead, which was about two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population.

The Jews were killed in pogroms and mass shootings; coupled with a strategy of annihilation through labor in concentration camps and gas chambers and gas vans in German extermination camps.

To date, people remember the holocaust for all the damage it caused. Some survivors still have details to share and it’s nothing short of terrible.

This is why when one Redditor shared a story involving a holocaust survivor getting insulted for having an identification tattoo, Redditors felt sorry for him.

OP shared on the r/entitledparents subreddit that they were at a town green watching a local band perform when they met an older man. He seemed very gentlemanly and nice.

A woman and her kids walked into the event, and the children were immediately drawn to OP’s dogs and began playing with them. Since the man also liked OP’s dogs, he was with them too, and the children were unruly.

He decided to leave, and in the process of getting his cane, his tattoo showed. This received an unpleasant remark from the woman, who told her kids never to get tattoos because they look ugly when a person gets older.

The man calmly replied that he had only gotten one because he hadn’t had a choice, but this didn’t stop her from being rude to him.

Another onlooker intervened and explained that the tattoo was an identification tattoo given to him at a concentration camp. Yet, this didn’t change the woman’s stance.

OP’s story had people in their feelings. However, can't leave out those who doubt the authenticity of the story.

Several people expressed their displeasure at the woman’s behavior and felt terrible that the old man had experienced that. One Redditor even hoped the story wasn't real due to how disturbing it is.
