Poor OP was afraid of loosing their job...
Being trapped somewhere and forced to spend the entire night is not pleasant, not evening it is a five-star hotel room with a jacuzzi tub and sauna. The very notion that you can’t get out when you want is enough to make you cringe.
Now imagine being trapped for the night at your job, a restaurant at Walmart. Imagine being stranded, asking your superiors for help, and them just blowing you off.
What’s more, they even make threats about losing your job if you call the fire department. It seems like a nightmare, but this is exactly what occurred to Zealousideal-Ebb-481, a fast-food restaurant employee who told their tale on Reddit.
“I called my manager and was told I’ll be stuck here at least all night long, if not longer if they can’t get the door open in the morning,” OP says. The gate door got seized as they were trying to leave after the shift ended.
“There is no emergency exit in the restaurant, there is inside the Walmart but I can’t leave the restaurant. No windows either," OP continues.
"My boss made it very clear that I am *not* to call the fire department as they will ruin the door, and they will be here first thing in the morning…”
The ordeal this poor employee went through is simply appalling. We are not talking just about the fact that they were stranded in a restaurant.
It was just a door jam - a machine without feelings malfunctioning. It can be fixed.
What’s worrying is that people let our OP down. The Walmart manager and the restaurant manager played with them like with a ping-pong ball, each one telling OP to call the other.
You would expect more than people. You would expect them to have feelings.
That can’t be fixed.
