Worried Aunt Feeds Starving Teen Nibblings Fast Food After Patriarchal Sister Gives Most Pizza To Husband, Gets Called Out For Meddling
Breakfast is a small bowl of oatmeal and a ton of vitamins, no lunch, and then a small serving for dinner

The OP of this Reddit post might be the only person in her family who is brave enough to stand up for her nieces and nephews. The 32-year-old OP was visiting her older sister and her husband.
OP makes it a point to visit her sister's family as frequently as she can despite living three hours away. These visits are for the sake of her four nieces and nephews, who are 11 years old and younger.
OP's sister and her family are fundamentalists. She is a stay-at-home mom, while her husband has a typical nine-to-five job.
Needless to say, they are a patriarchal family. OP respects their beliefs and tries her hardest not to judge them when she visits. In this particular visit, staying silent wasn't an option.
OP watched as her sister made one 14-inch pizza for dinner.
OP bowed out of eating dinner. Her portion could just go to the children, and she didn't really have a high opinion of her sister's cooking.
OP couldn't believe it as her sister served her husband four slices of pizza. She gave each child a slice.
They couldn't ask for seconds because there was nothing left. Her sister didn't even get a slice and settled for nibbling on some pieces from each child's plate.
OP offered to drive to the nearest town to get more food but her sister declined saying that her children didn't need it

OP furiously asked why her sister's husband gets half of the pie while her children tried to make do with what was left
u/sblake1983
After a bit of back and forth, OP went to a fast-food joint to buy her nieces and nephews more food which made her sister angry. She accused OP of making trouble for her.
u/sblake1983
By trouble she meant going out of the traditional meek wife role which is a sin against God
u/sblake1983
OP already tried to call CPS but nothing good came out of it
u/sblake1983
She's just trying her best to stay in the children's lives and hopes that they will feel safe with her once they are old enough to make their own choices

A slice of pizza is nothing for a growing child

OP's sister is potentially passing her disordered eating habits to her four young children with what she's doing
sblake1983
The 7-year-old was probably fine after a slice, but the other three kids are much older and definitely need more food than just a pizza slice
Mera1506
And they had to watch their dad eat four pizzas while they silently waited for him to finish his portions

Does OP's brother-in-law always get the biggest portion in every meal?
OkControl9503
I highly doubt that those kids would ever complain about how they're being treated

OP replied that they are homeschooled. They probably don't even know that what's happening to them isn't okay.

OP's brother may live near, but he isn't much help. Why would he help OP when she's the wrong type of Christian?
sblake1983
Is it possible that the children had a big meal earlier in the day?
Kris82868
Oh, this isn't okay! Those kids are not eating enough!
sblake1983
Hearing their stomach make noises is probably normal for them

OP's sister is deliberately not feeding her children
Keeping100, sblake1983
Her disordered eating will affect her children's health sooner rather than later
Keeping100, sblake1983
OP needs to make sure that she is in these children's lives. She may be their only saving grace.

I wonder what OP's sister did after OP left. Were the kids reprimanded for eating food from outside the home that she didn't prepare?
OP's nieces and nephews aren't getting the nutrition they need. We also can't gloss over them "giving away" their child because she has a birth deformity, and authorities think they are fit to be parents.
