Airbnb Hosts Have Been Complaining Online About The Decrease In Bookings, And People Are Loving It

Airbnb was originally a cheaper alternative to expensive hotels. People used to save a lot of money by opting for Airbnb instead of a hotel; the prices were more reasonable, and the experience the hosts used to offer made it truly unique.
Now, with all the different fees they started adding to the total, it became much more expensive than a hotel. Some Airbnb hosts will even give you a list of chores to do, and on top of that, you still have to pay the cleaning fee.
Lately, Airbnb hosts have been complaining about the decrease in bookings. Airbnb is no longer the first or second option for most people, so all of these accommodations are currently sitting empty and collecting dust.
Twitter user @texasrunnerDFW Tweeted a screenshot from an "Airbnb Superhosts" Facebook group showing a member complaining about the decrease in bookings from 50% to almost 0%. The Twitter community had a lot of different reactions to @texasrunnerDFW's Tweet and were mostly not surprised considering the ridiculous fees some hosts impose.
Scroll down to check out the original Tweet and scroll a little further to read people's reactions to the "Airbnbust." Some of these hosts are truly delusional and need to snap back to reality.
The discussion got triggered by this screenshot of an "Airbnb Superhost" wondering what caused the decrease in bookings.
@texasrunnerDFWThis host replied by insisting that the decrease the others are seeing is because of where they're located.
@MrBundyxThere are a number of theories shared by current and former Airbnb customers on Twitter about why bookings may be declining:
It's pretty obvious when you think about it.
1. It started as a pretty useful alternative, then turned into something entirely different.
@heavygweit2. That's what you get for disrupting the housing and rental markets. Karma's a b*tch.
@rachosaur843. They probably made more than enough money is that short period.
rachosaur844. Now they can finally find a real job instead of doing this.
@xanabon5. Everyone is miserable in this scenario except for a handful of rentiers.
@The_Law_Boy6. Those fees are absolutely ridiculous. Who on earth would ever book this.
@JoshhowardOR7. And they will probably come up with even more BS fees in the future, it's just a matter of time.
@dadsof38. Anyone in their right mind would stay as far away as possible from this mess.
@Jani_Gee9. Pay us loads of money and clean after yourself for free. Thank you!
@faroefool10. "Then pick up my son from school and do my laundry"
@comradeflirty11. Because they care about keeping their costumers satisfied, unlike these greedy monsters.
@tunedloop12. It's not a hotel at this point, it's a full-time job.
@briannayama21213. If your prices are not ridiculous, people will actually book your accommodation.
@BeerBrewerDan14. You know we're doomed when hotels are now a better alternative.
EsSpider115. Thankfully, not all landlords suck.
FitzgeraldKiley16. Time to find better alternatives.
hdemott317. This could be the solution to an even bigger problem.
ArchegosKegger18. Greed always ends up ruining things.
FredericoFelli121. Who do all of that when you can just book a room in a hotel?
newskhoolIf your prices and fees are ridiculous, of course, no one will book your accommodation. People are tired of bs fees and would rather find better alternatives. If you enjoyed this list, make sure to check out similar content on our platform.
