According to Adrianne Carter, a facial expression and body language expert located in the United Kingdom, sleeping is a type of nonverbal communication. "Our body's posture and movement convey how we are feeling and what is happening for us within, and this is something that happens primarily subconsciously," says the author.

Considering that cats have such varied personalities, you can use their sleeping positions as a way to determine their behavior as cats can be very unpredictable. Even though they are not that hyperactive like dogs, they have their own way of entertaining themselves and their owners.
