Who doesn't enjoy going on a group travel? Some people even decide to go on a family vacation where you and your favorite people are going to have the time of your lives.

Sometimes and especially when you aren't buoyant enough, you can divide travel expenses and end up saving money. However, if bill splitting is done incorrectly or if some family members believe they are being charged more than others, it may completely destroy a trip.

So you must figure out a method to divide travel expenses if you are organizing a trip with friends or relatives. Your travel expenses should include a detailed breakdown of the costs for lodging, meals, airfare, and transportation.

Giving your traveling companions a clear idea of how much they should bring with them is one of the goals of a group travel budget. Remember that it's acceptable for someone to choose to reduce expenses or give up on an activity if they are unable to pay for it. 

The OP was the one planning a family vacation for her brothers and parents. The plan was that they would each pay their share as well as split the cost for their parents to treat them.

I went ahead booking a family vacation without my older brother because he wasn't clear on his responses.

I could be the AH as I could have included him in our plans regardless of his lack of answer.

Only problem is my parents saying they feel bad for leaving him behind. I want them to enjoy their vacation and our older brother is only thinking of himself by guilt tripping them.

The tickets for flights went up since it's last minute, as well as all the activities we booked up. We booked at a reasonable time knowing last minute trips usually cost way more. Hence why we kept asking and asking

The OP extended an invitation to her elder brother, just like she did her younger brother. Some say OP should remain silent and let her parents make all the arrangements without her help since they are adamant on paying for her brother.

The OP can also inform her parents that they can reimburse her and her younger brother if they choose to pay for the oldest. In the end, the OP was declared not the AH.
