Homeowner Hindered In Evicting Squatters After Finding Locks Changed Upon His Return

How one wandering kitten turned a cat hater into a rescue hero!
Let's talk about Calvin Tucker, a man whose heart was stolen by a furry, four-legged thief on a chilly afternoon in 2015. If anyone had told Tucker—the self-proclaimed cat skeptic—that he’d find himself smitten by his whiskered nemesis that very day, he’d have simply laughed.
But life has a funny way of throwing surprises our way. You see, Tucker wasn’t a cat person. In fact, he avoided them like the plague.
But when he locked eyes with the little gray fur ball perched by his front tire after a typical workday, it marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that transformed Tucker's life in ways he never imagined. Now, if this were a romantic comedy, we’d say it was love at first sight, but Tucker had a lifelong aversion to cats.
Yet, there was something about this kitten—whom he later named King Henry—that looked at him as if to say, "Ready for a life change, buddy?" From that day on, Henry became a regular fixture at Tucker’s workplace. Tucker greeted him daily with food, water, and affectionate chats.
“Daddy’s here,” Tucker would announce—a statement that marked his complete 180° transformation. Despite working two jobs, Tucker always made time for King Henry.
Even on his days off or when he was under the weather, Tucker never failed to show up.
On the 45th day, he took a leap of faith and petted Henry for the first time—and just like that, a new passion was ignited.
Soon, Tucker wasn’t just visiting King Henry. He welcomed him into his home and affectionately crowned him ‘the king of the castle.’
But the transformation didn’t stop there. Tucker, now dubbed ‘Black Noah,’ started noticing other cats in need around him. The guy who once couldn’t stand to be in the same room with a cat was now spearheading TNR (trap, neuter, return) efforts and had founded SOCAT (Saving One Creature at a Time) to help other animals.
Thanks to one gray kitten's choice, countless lives have been touched and saved. And the best part? People rallied behind Calvin’s cause.
A GoFundMe campaign is currently underway to help Tucker expand his noble efforts. They’ve already raised a purr-worthy $24K towards a $200K goal.
Did Henry know Tucker was his destined person? The paw prints on Tucker’s heart certainly suggest so! And he makes one thing clear: King Henry will remain by his side till death do them part.
