In thrift shops, you can buy literally everything: furniture, clothing, books, kitchen accessories, accessories, outdoor items, and the best part is that everything is much cheaper. Overpriced things became overrated, and thrifting is now a way of life.
Thrifting for some people is also a hobby that allows them to find rare and valuable items. Shopping in thrift stores is not just about saving money, now it's about finding collectible items, old pieces of art, in one word unique items that cannot be found anywhere else.
The founder of Museum of Lost Memories, David Gutenmacher, likes to collect old pictures and video footage at thrift shops. He loves to bring these old memories back to life, and by that, he keeps them from being forgotten.
He believes that these kinds of memories should be returned to their owners or their families. So, whenever he finds something like this, he tries to find the owners of these lost memories.
His recent finding was a film canister with a note in it, the note revealed when the pictures were taken. So naturally, he scanned the founded film and the note, and shared it on TikTok with his followers, hoping to find the family of its previous owner.
His video reached 4 million views, and people online started to share their thoughts about the places where the pictures were taken and about the nationality of the photographed people also. Soon enough, the TikTok community discovered whose memories David Gutenmacher had founded.
