When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first started making headlines as a couple, their chemistry was undeniable. From cozying up at her Eras tour to packing on the PDA at various public events, it seemed like love was in the air. 

But as time passed, has the spark started to fizzle out? That’s the question body language expert Darren Staton asked after the couple's recent appearance at the US Open on September 8.

The couple was spotted enjoying the men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz. While Swift and Kelce seemed to be having a blast—singing, dancing, and walking hand-in-hand into the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center—Staton’s analysis suggests otherwise. 

According to his observations, Kelce’s enthusiasm in the relationship seems to have waned. Where once they were “very touchy-feely” and constantly exchanging affectionate gestures, things now appear to be cooling off.

Could this be a sign that Kelce is getting overwhelmed by the media frenzy surrounding Swift, or is their whirlwind romance simply starting to cool off?

Darren Staton didn’t hold back when discussing the shift in their dynamic. Speaking to Tyla on behalf of Spin Genie, Staton noted that, in the early days, Kelce was highly engaged—they couldn’t seem to keep their hands off each other.

Kelce was constantly flying across the globe to support her on her Eras tour and often seen hugging her tightly from behind. Their body language, Staton observed, showed a strong connection, with matching gestures and constant physical contact. 

Fast forward to the US Open, and it seems Kelce’s energy has dialed down a few notches. In his words, the started off “…quite full on, very tactile, very touchy feely,” adding that "Travis was going around the world to support her on her Era’s tour.”

“The PDA from the pair was very full on for a while, holding hands and kissing in public, but this seems to have decreased as time has gone on,” he said.

The expert further pointed out that while Swift remained her usual animated self—“a firework as usual”—Kelce only appeared to truly engage when Swift was looking at him.

According to Staton, the prolonged eye contact and quick kisses that once defined the couple’s interactions were notably absent. He went as far as to say that the relationship “no longer feels authentic.”

While Kelce is no stranger to the glitz and glam of professional football, it turns out the so-called “Taylor Swift circus” might just be too much for him to handle.

Despite these red flags, only Swift and Kelce know the real story behind their romance. Perhaps Kelce’s quieter demeanor is a result of adjusting to life in the relentless celebrity spotlight, or maybe there’s more going on beneath the surface. 

As fans, all we can do is wait and see if Darren’s predictions about a “gradual decrease” in public displays of affection come true. For now, though, Swifties everywhere are crossing their fingers that this love story has many more chapters to go!
