According to Forbes, student loan debt affects more than 44 million people who collectively owe $1.6 trillion. If you can't fathom what a sobering statistic like that means, check out this article where someone explains being a billionaire in a way anyone can understand, and then look at that $1.6 trillion again. It's a LOT of money and simply dismissing it as a lot is almost pathetic.

As with all things that are difficult, frustrating, or maybe even depressing and scary in life, people coping with or trying to wrap their minds around the crushing student loan debt have turned to humor. It's a great coping mechanism, so laugh, cry, laugh, cry... you know the drill.

It's a terrible laughter.

If you don't think about it, you'll hurt yourself in the long run.

We're starting life with soul crushing depression, crippling anxiety, and insurmountable debt. Yay!
