Early morning surprises are often limited to the blissful chirping of birds or the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. However, nothing could have prepared our narrator (OP) and her boyfriend for the shock that a roommate was about to give them in the wee hours of the morning.
This particular morning had the makings of a scene straight out of a suspense movie. Entering someone's room uninvited is already a breach of privacy, but it was the roommate's behavior inside the room that heightened the alarm.
She paced around the room and rummaged through personal belongings, all the while responding to every question thrown by the couple with "It's fine."
The couple, still drowsy and disoriented, kept making efforts to understand her motives. But the roommate kept making odd comments, most of which made no sense to either of them.
At some point, the roommate asked if they were "Uber Eats," and when they responded with a "No," she echoed the usual "It's fine." From OP's explanation, the girl had no idea who they were, almost as if she had lost her memory.
The oddities continued beyond the bedroom. The sounds of door slamming, a hurried shower, and a distressed cat echoed through the house.
After the roommate left the shower, OP went in to find the girl's shirt and bra soaking wet in the tub, wet toilet paper, and trash littered on the bathroom floor—"What exactly is going on?" OP thought to herself.
The roommate's actions possibly indicate underlying issues—be it substance abuse or mental health challenges. However, OP is hoping that the Reddit community can provide her with answers to this strange scenario.
