Do you like Shiba Inu dogs? After all, what's not to like about Shiba Inus?

Shiba Inus took the Internet world by storm ever since the "Doge" meme went viral in 2010—so naturally, everyone wanted a doge of their own (a lot of people still do). But Shiba Inus are more than just a cute face that you'd like to squish and kiss and snuggle into.

A certain DNA analysis has revealed that Shiba Inus are actually one of the oldest dog breeds dating back to as far as the third century BC, in the Classical era. This was when the Roman Republic was kind of taking over the world and somewhere along that timeline, an Asian spitz-type dog bred in Japan was born into this world, and centuries later, it's stealing millions of people's hearts both online and offline.

Shiba Inus were initially bred to assist hunters that have taken over the mountains in Japan. That explains their chunky size and agility, and they can live up to 12 to 15 years.

They're certainly more than just pretty faces because they are very curious and intelligent—given their origin. They are great pets for families because they are always up and excited for any kind of adventure, and they would always want to stay active by playing all the time.

They need a lot of toys to keep their brains stimulated and busy, and they're never ones to back down from a challenge (you can even take them on a hike!). So if you are someone, or in a family, who has a very active lifestyle, then Shiba Inus should probably be at the top of your list if you're looking for a pet that would perfectly fit in your daily routines.
