Animals are truly the best happy pills, not only to their owners but to the people around the world who are fortunate enough to see these adorable creatures on the Internet. No matter what's going on in our day, we can always depend on a photo of a cat or a dog to cheer ourselves.

The number of animals that are still yet to be adopted is always growing around the globe, what with the millions of companion animals left in rescue shelters just waiting for someone to put them in their forever homes. The United States alone has over 6 million animals entering these shelters annually, of which most are cats and dogs.

Only about half of these get adopted every year, unfortunately, and it's a devastating thing as a good percent of these animals that enter shelters just end up being euthanized. Animals are the purest things here on Earth, and it's no question that we must take care of them as much as we can.

With that said, there are still a lot of people who are kind enough to provide homes for these poor animals from rescues, and they all deserve the reciprocated love from their adorable pets.
