Reality Star Loses Love Island Hosting Gig After The "Scary Surgery" She Got In Turkey Altered Her Appearance

Rumors about Skye Whitley's drastic change in appearance have been circulating online after she disclosed she was flying to Turkey. Medical tourism has been a big draw for the country, attracting celebrities and influencers from all over the world.

Whitley, a top Australian influencer and reality show star, told her nearly 100k TikTok followers she was in the country for a temporal lift procedure and wanted to be transparent about it. In another Instagram story, Whitley listed all of the procedures she had done.

Apart from the temporal lift (eyebrow lift), the 29-year-old mum of three also had a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and arm & inner thigh liposuction. Some of her followers said Whitley was essentially trying to achieve the fox eye look— a similar eye shape popularized by some A-list models.

While canthoplasty (fox eye lift surgery) is a type of blepharoplasty, there is a difference. According to the Cleveland Clinic, "A blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of your eyelids. It helps reduce the look of tired eyes from your lower lids and removes drooping skin from your upper lids."

Combining it with a "cosmetic procedure to reposition your forehead, reduce wrinkles and make you look more youthful," or a temporal lift can achieve a similar result to a canthoplasty. Her followers were worried on Whitley's behalf and said she could end up looking "botched" like the other women who opted for the procedures.

While some fans were grateful for Whitley's honesty about her cosmetic surgeries, others cautioned her from going too far.

They said she was on a spiral if she thought she needed such drastic surgeries at her age.

They asked her to look at herself more kindly, but Whitley said she couldn't see herself that way and was a perfectionist.

When Whitley began posting throwback pics and videos, her followers were even more intrigued about her new appearance.

Others called out the rumor-mongers in an attempt to stop them from speculating about someone else's body.

Little by little, Whitley shared her post-op look to quell the rumors.

She stayed true to her mission and was transparent about the journey... even when she was still in bandages with her fellow content creator El Phillips.

Their plastic surgeon, Dr. Vasfi Çelik, also posted snippets of Whitley five days after the procedures.

With their bandages removed, Whitley and Phillips posed for a photo with their surgeon seemingly happy with the results.

A close-up look at her new eye shape was also seen in the short video shared by the doctor.

Even swollen, there is a noticeable difference in the 29-year-old's appearance.

She candidly disclosed all the surgeries she had done while she was in Turkey to her Instagram followers.

Approximately 3 weeks after her surgery trip, Whitley got treatments and revealed a less swollen post-op look.

Some of her fans weren't happy with the result and said the procedures made her eyes so much smaller.

The controversy didn't stop as the reality show alum said she was dropped for hosting Love Island because of the "scary surgery" she got.

Soon after, Whitley told her followers to calm down.

She said she was 3 weeks into recovery and would, of course, still look puffy.

An anonymous source gave the Daily Mail more info about Whitley's sudden cancelation from hosting Love Island. Her hosting skills weren't the issue the source revealed but, "it was just ‘the look’ they were hiring her for that has changed."

Despite the backlash and some lost opportunities, Whitley was at ease about her cosmetic choices. She told one fan, who complimented her fox eyes, that she, too, loved the results!
