Women Reveal The Unglamorous Things Movies Don't Mention About Being Pregnant

Movies make pregnancy a lot more glamorous than it really is and sometimes, they don't mention a lot of things that women go through in reality like these things.

Pregnancy is a different experience for every woman. There will be both positive and negative moments for everyone though.

Some women keep vomiting for months on end and even end up in bed for months not being able to do the usual things they've been doing before the baby. Others though feel nothing and can go about their days like they're not carrying a growing human being in their tummies.

Everyone can pretty much agree though that in movies, pretty much every gross or inconvenient thing about pregnancy is left out. And yes, we somehow get it.

People don't want to watch that stuff, it's gross, it doesn't fit the storyline, there's no budget, blah blah blah. There are tons of reasons they have to keep it all glamorous.

It would be nice to see a real-life depiction though because, in reality, pregnancy is so much more complicated. There are the hemorrhoids, the peeing all the time, the panic and the doubt that you're going to be a good mom and so many more.

Yes, pregnancy may be magical and there are moments that you might suddenly feel that magic even for a split second but there are also far from magical moments that not a lot of people want to talk about. On Reddit, women are getting real about these things.

1. Pregnancy messes with the body like no other

Every pregnant woman in every movie always look like they're glowing

Oh this would be very satisfying to see because it's so true!

It's like a movie rule that women shouldn't snore or make other sounds if not for comedic effect

Women won't always know if they're already in labor especially if it's their first

Childbirth and pregnancy isn't always filled with magic. We're still human after all

This is also what we mean when we say pregnancy isn't all magical and nice for everybody

Movies always skip the part where the mom has to be taken care of afterward

It's just messy, just plain messy

Sometimes, it can even be a worse experience for some women

You're literally sharing your body with another human being for 9 months

The weight gain in movies is just so unrealistic

Movies make this expectation of perfectly round baby bumps but even every fetus is different

Pregnancy and childbirth can also affect mental health. That is a fact.

Movies always have to be pretty to look at. So even when their characters should be suffering through something, it still has to look decent enough.

That's probably the reason why a lot of these pregnancy realities don't make it to the big screen. Hopefully, it does though so people don't keep getting this misconception that pregnancy has very few cons.
