Talented Artist Shares 20+ Amusing Comics That Are Quite Dark But Very Relatable

The webcomic series Skeleton Claw has gained a sizable fan base because of its unique blend of dark comedy and eccentric characters. These cartoons, which are the creation of an illustrator named Andy, depict strange events and circumstances that vary from the ridiculous to the poignant.

Andy has a devoted following that excitedly anticipates each new episode of the series thanks to his distinct style and quirky taste. The creator of Skeleton Claw revealed some fascinating details about his creative process.

He disclosed that he finds inspiration in many different places, such as lengthy walks, talks with friends, and even dreams. Before developing an idea into a finished cartoon drawing, he frequently jots it down as a note on his phone.

"Usually, they're from stray thoughts wandering around my head. I read stuff, talk with friends, walk around, etc., and somehow little random things get inside my head and bounce around my head for a while. Sometimes those random thoughts turn into comics," Andy says.

We've gathered some of his best works for you to check out below, so grab your snacks and enjoy the collection.

The power of social media is paradoxical. Unknown artists can become more well-known since it gives creators the chance to build a following without depending on traditional publishing gatekeepers.

But the artist says that comic book creators may find that social media sites can become their deadliest adversaries. Their algorithms create a vicious loop in which a comic's spectacular performance can leave them feeling dejected and frustrated, but an onslaught of likes and follows can be thrilling.

These algorithms' randomness gives the impression that posting is controlled by an arbitrary deity who arbitrarily grants rewards and punishes offenders in an equally unpredictable manner.

As a comic book creator, Andy tries to focus on the aspects that he can control, like honing his craft, improving his writing, and releasing content that truly speaks to him. When asked what he thinks readers will take away from his comics, Andy had a succinct response, saying, "If I can make just one person chuckle while they're on the toilet, then it is all worth it.”

So share this post if Andy's comics made you laugh.
