20 Gruesome Scenes From The Original Disney Stories That We Didn't Know About
If you love learning new things about Disney then you're going to really enjoy this article.

If you're anything like me then you grew up watching Disney movies and hearing about the classic fairytales it had to offer. Disney is known for some of its classic stories such as Cinderella, The Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty.
It's no secret that some of the stories we've heard and songs we've listened to as kids actually were a lot darker in their original versions. These stories have been passed down over time, so you can expect changes here and there.
If you love learning about Disney facts and just hearing cool differences between the stories we know and how they were originally told then you'll really love this article We've compiled 20 scenes and plot points that were in the original stories that inspired these iconic Disney films but have changed or since been removed for pretty obvious reasons.
These scenes might be gruesome, not very nice, or not suitable for children's stories, which actually makes this that much more fun. Here's a bit of a warning saying that you might not look to these fairytales the same way you did before this.
Let's take a look at some gruesome, not child-friendly scenes and plot points that were removed from Disney stories but were a huge part of the original storyline.
1. Sleeping Beauty
This actually does make sense for the storyline but it is a part that maybe isn't suitable for the children's version.

2. Mulan
This is definitely a gruesome part of this original story that I didn't know about.

3. Pinocchio
I just need to know why this was part of the original story anyway.

4. The Little Mermaid
I'd see why they took that out of the cartoons and movies that we watched of The Little Mermaid.

5. Beauty and the Beast
This is such an unfortunate part of this story, but it just shows how jealousy works.

6. Aladdin
It's really wild to see how they cover up scenes like this and how they were just shoved under the rug.

7. Jungle Book
This definitely was not in the Jungle Book that I remember watching.

8. Robin Hood
Well, this isn't exactly how I remember the story ends. Very interesting to see the differences between the original stories.

9. Peter Pan
This whole original story is way darker than any of us imagined, so I'm not surprised at all.

10. Tangled
That sneakiness and sabotage that this movie entails is wild.

11. Pocahontas
This is an interesting take on the story and honestly knowing the history behind it makes me believe that this was a story made up by Smith.

12. Mary Poppins
It's crazy to know that the entire storyline is completely switched from the original.

13. The Lion King
Well this wouldn't have been a great ending for a children's movie.

14. Little Snow White
This is an interesting way for the story to end and also just an interesting concept to Snow White's main storyline.

15. Tarzan
This wouldn't have been the happy ending we were all searching for in the Tarzan movie.

16. The Frog Prince
I mean, I wouldn't have been mad if they kept this scene in the movies and stories that we see today.

17. Hercules
This storyline was much more dark than we originally remembered.

18. The Fox and the Hound
I prefer the story that we know opposed to this one because this does not have a happy ending at all.

19. Cinderella
The lengths that these people went through to get that shoe to fit is ridiculous.

20. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
This is definitely a dark part of the story that we've never heard before.

These dark storylines of the original Disney movies and stories are absolutely astonishing. I had no idea about some of these and it's no wonder they removed these scenes in the stories we hear now.
Clearly, some of these were not child appropriate at all which makes sense as to why they were removed.
