TikToker Reveals The Alleged Method Olive Garden Uses To Avoid Customers From Bringing Home Endless Pasta

The American casual dining restaurant brand Olive Garden specializes in Italian-American cuisines. It is a division of the Florida-based Darden Restaurants, Inc., with its main office in Orange County.

It's parent company, Darden's had $6.9 billion in revenue as of 2012. From that amount, $3.8 billion came from Olive Garden restaurants.

Their website caption reads:

Welcome to Olive Garden Italian Restaurants. Stop by today and enjoy family style dining and fresh Italian food at our local restaurants.

People were definitely happy when Olive Garden has reinstated its renowned "never-ending pasta bargain" after a two-year absence. According to a Forbes article, it says that:

“The Never Ending Pasta Bowl Menu includes the choice of four kinds of pasta (fettuccine, spaghetti, rigatoni, and angel hair), plus five sauces (made-from-scratch creamy mushroom, traditional marinara, five cheese marinara, traditional meat sauce, and Alfredo), plus three toppings ( meatballs, Italian sausage, and crispy chicken fritta).”

Most Olive Garden locations only charge $13.99 for the combo, and each additional topping is $4.99. What's keeping people from bringing a bowl home considering how reasonably priced the deal is for the quantity of food they receive?

Well, one customer, who also happens to be a TikToker, came up with a theory and shared it in this now-viral TikTok video. In her second dish of pasta, TikToker Isabel noted a rather amazing size difference.

“Never ending, but they bring you a smaller bowl the next time. They know u taking it home.”

TikToker Isabel laughs while saying, “Never ending, but they bring you a smaller bowl the next time.” The caption on the video read, “They know u taking it home.”

You'll get to see the original TikTok video as you keep scrolling. Nevertheless, this hypothesis was supported by viewers in the comments section.

"Just started as a server there and I was confused too when I picked up the refill,” a viewer said. “Like oh, small bowl alright then,” the viewer added.

Others discussed how they go about bringing a meal or two home. Evidently, this isn't an issue elsewhere. At least one commentator said this:

“A few years ago I was gonna leave after finishing my bowl and they stopped me and brought me a refill to take home. IDK why they’re weird to yall."

Some people provided advice on how to get a complete takeaway package. “They also def don’t want to waste food! bring a plastic bag and dump it in that, ask for another bowl…THEN ur box,” suggested a commentator.

Regardless, this video made viewers crave pasta. One really well-liked comment reads, "God I want olive garden now."

No one wants their food wasted and this is just one tactic that the Olive Garden uses to curtail that (or to stop you from taking it home). Come on, every business has its own way of making sales, besides you can tell from the comments that people actually started craving pasta.
