Tim Berners-Lee, a computer scientist, published the source code for the first web browser and editor in the early 1990s. It was a free and simple-to-use tool that later evolved into the internet as we know it today.
Of course, there were many who questioned the technology's long-term viability. Not to mention those who didn't care for "childish activities" because their lives were already centered around other things.
But now that their loved ones, including their friends and family, are all utilizing social media, even these people are setting up accounts to interact with them. According to a study by a researcher at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), the main reason older people use social media, which differs from how younger people use it to form and sustain relationships, is a lack of in-person interactions.
The study was the first to employ a uses-and-gratifications paradigm to evaluate Facebook and Instagram use among older populations aged 50 and over, a group whose use of social media has not received much attention. While it's admirable that they're making an effort to control all the frightening gear and software, some of their failures are pure comedic gold.

Boomers and Traditionalists who chose better life satisfaction used Facebook and Instagram less to combat loneliness and the need for company. Those who chose lower life satisfaction utilized Facebook to make up for the loss.
So, whenever you observe older people having some difficulty on social media, don't pass judgment. Most likely, they're just attempting to contact someone.
