With this being said, we are diving into a situation today that was posted by a woman who wants to know if she's wrong for being upset at her mom for missing her college graduation due to her not wanting to be in the same place as her father. Obviously, divorces are hard, but it can be even harder with kids and when the divorce isn't on great terms.
OP is pretty upset about the fact that her mom might miss her graduation due to her not wanting to be in the same room as her father, and she feels honestly pretty put in the middle. If you're interested in hearing more about this situation and what people had to say about it then keep on reading as we dive in and take a look at the full post and all of the best comments on it as well.
OP starts off her post with explaining what the issue is, when her parents divorced, and just overall what was going on with the situation all together.

People immediately came to the comments to let her know that her mom is being selfish and that it's not right for her to be this way because of a divorce.

We definitely do agree that she should talk to her mother and explain the way she's feeling because she definitely isn't in the wrong here.

This definitely does show that but we can all see through it anyway. Obviously there was a lot of toxicity in the relationship.

Some people were asking questions because they felt that it could go the other way but ultimately the mom is being selfish to ,is an event like that simply because of her divorce.

Either way it could be selfish and regardless, OP doesn't seem to be mad at either parent so nothing extreme could have happened.

This is absolutely true and she'd be missing out on all of these things simply because of her own issues.

It seems like everyone was on OP's side for the most part and is telling her that her mom is being selfish.

Personally I think she'd want to be there for the graduation despite her differences with OP's dad, but I guess not.

Many of these people think that OP is in the right and that her mom is being selfish about the whole situation. Personally we think that we'd want to be there for our kid despite the differences, but some people are saying that if the reason for divorce was extreme enough, then it's valid.
What do you think about this?
