You've got to give the dog credit for being a true friend. In this beautiful story, a lovely pitbull stands by the side of his octopus toy.

Some events in life just bring out the love and compassion that exist inside us. An example is this unconditional love that is both cute and inspiring.

We meet a dog named Jamaica that is adamant about not leaving the side of his favorite toy. Even as Ana's mother performs surgery to save the toy's life.

Ana Mara Peas del guila, the woman who rescued Jamaica when she was a puppy, told The Dodo that the dog "loves everything that is soft and squishy." When she refused to leave the side of the gravely injured stuffed animal, the Dog elevated the expression "true friends are rare" to new heights.

Dogs are the most wonderful creatures and In the snapshot, you can tell that Jamaica is a sweet pit bull with a soft spot for soft things. Her octopus chew toy is a bright pink hue, which she loves.

But all of Jamaica's focus on the toy has not gone ignored, and there have been some repercussions as a result. This has led to the occasional emergency 'surgery' that needs to be performed on the toy to make it brand new for the dog.

The toy, octopus in Jamaica's mouth

Ana's mother gave her the octopus toy a few months ago, and she was thrilled with it! Since then, the octopus has rarely left Jamaica’s side or her mouth.

Jamaica's everyday routine

It wasn't long before Jamaica's octopus began to show symptoms of wear. But then, one day, everything came to a crashing halt.

At long last, the tentacled toy was broken apart. Jamaica was devastated – but fortunately, not for long.

Ana's mother jumped in to conduct emergency surgery on the damaged toy. And the worried canine remained by its side during the entire process.

This hasn't been a one-time occurrence, either. The toy has continued to suffer as a result of the attention it has received from Jamaica.

"Her octopus has needed surgery three or four times!" says Ana. “Each time, Jamaica waits patiently until it's sewn.

When she gets the toy back, she is very happy.”

It's possible that Jamaica's octopus could become ripped beyond repair and will need to be replaced with another toy in the future. But owing to those surgeries, they'll be able to enjoy their time together in the meantime.

Her family wouldn't have it any other way, and she wouldn't either. "I love her," Ana said. "She is a very, very good dog."

This story about a dog named Jamaica and its favorite toy is heartwarming. You may argue that calling something your "favorite toy" is exaggerating things a little.

But with the Toy Story movies giving us a perspective of how toys would feel, It is times like this that call into question everything we hold dear. If this lovely octopus could communicate, we are confident the toy would say something along the lines of " Thank you for not leaving my side or on three legs, I'm perfectly capable of moving around without a hitch."
