When something gets missing, or someone goes missing, the first thing anyone would do is contact the police. People frequently hold disparate opinions about involving the police in minor neighborhood disputes, depending on their personal experiences.
When there are disputes or suspicious activity in their neighborhood, some individuals immediately call the police. However, for others, calling the police is frequently a last resort because of worries or negative experiences.
In today's story, the OP called the police on her husband for taking away her son's motorcycle. This is a $7k motorcycle the OP got her son for his 18th birthday, but her current husband believes the OP is encouraging him to be reckless, distracting him from school and, by extension, his future.
Later on, OP's son's motorcycle went missing, and they opened a police report, but nothing came out of it, only for the OP's MIL to visit them and reveal that she saw a motorcycle, one that's similar to the one that they lost in the OP's husband's other house.
MIL even showed the OP a photo she took of it, which confirmed that it was indeed her son's motorcycle. The OP confronted her husband while telling him to bring back the motorcycle, which he refused to do.
The OP had enough and called the cops. The motorcycle was found and returned, but her husband had to be taken in.
