The "Raccoon Whisperer" has a YouTube channel where he posts interesting videos of his everyday life with these little floofs.
James Blackwood from Nova Scotia, Canada, calls himself the "Raccoon Whisperer," and he has every right to do so. For the last 25 years, he’s been devoting much of his free time to taking care of the raccoons who live in local forests. They often need help to survive the harsh winter in that area.
The "Raccoon Whisperer" has a YouTube channel where he posts interesting videos of his everyday life with these little floofs. One of his recent videos, where he is shown feeding hot dogs to a pack of cute raccoons, went viral. The gang regularly comes to James’s house to get food, and they couldn’t be cuter.
“It was snowing with freezing temperatures, and the raccoons were super hungry and knew they had to stock up for the long winter,” reads the caption of the video. James is shown going outside and hand-feeding hot dogs to a bunch of wild raccoons.
When they’ve emptied the first bucket, James brought another bucket full of hot dogs. After that, he got raccoons a bucket full of chocolate cookies. And finally, James brought a whole container of dog food. Boy, they can eat a lot.
James began taking care of raccoons some 25 years ago. “This was my wife’s project, and she died in 2003 of cancer and begged me on her death bed to take care of her raccoons and cats and her mother,” reads the caption of one of his videos.
“I honored her wishes and took care of the cats and her mother for the next ten years. I have two rescue cats that live here Connor and Charlotte but they stay indoors. Special Note: thank you for the kind offers of money and Gifts but I cannot accept I would rather you donate to your local SPCA or Animal Welfare locations in your area,” Raccoon Whisperer continues.
