Losing your pet is one of the worst things that can happen to anyone. You can't help but constantly worry about them and their well-being and hope that nothing terrible happened to them.
Pets often wander around and end up getting lost after either getting distracted by something or not knowing the way back home. It's something you can help prevent, but even with all the precautions, pets are clever, and they can sneak their way out of anything,
People often post notices offering rewards to whoever finds their lost pet. Money is always a good motivator and as long as you find your four-legged friend, that is money well spent.
Even if you don't include a reward, some good samaritans are out there and will be more than happy to help you. It might be slower, but it's least worth trying for sure.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/AITAlostpet made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where he explained how he refused to give a lost cat to its owner because he wasn't planning on paying the reward.
