Throughout the course of life, we meet different kinds of people, and especially when we enter the dating scene, we begin to scrutinize every little factor at just the first date. It's no secret that dating now is a lot different back then, but one thing is for sure, most people now are becoming warier about certain traits and quirks that they should avoid as fast as they can because dodging bullets is far more preferable nowadays than going home with a broken heart.
Over time, the terms "green flag" and "red flag" have emerged in the dating scene, as a way to categorize certain factors that make someone worthy to date or another bullet to dodge. These things are pretty simple, like how opening doors and asking consent down to the littlest details are green flags, and how talking about themselves too much and being uninterested with your side of stories are red flags.
With the rate of abusive relationships all over the world, it's somehow a sigh of relief that people are becoming a lot more aware of what signs they need to take note of, especially when someone exhibits narcissistic behavior at just the first meeting. And these flags aren't just present in potential lovers, they are also found in friendships and workplaces, too!
That being said, when someone with the handle u/sencecore posted this question on Reddit: "What’s an immediate red flag for you?", people were quick to crowd in the replies. The post has now gathered over 13k upvotes and 8k comments.

RedditIt's not really a surprising thing that red flags are becoming a lot more common the green ones because most of us have spawned from generational trauma. However, this does not make it okay for us to treat others differently and think that the world only revolves around us.
