Don’t you just love Halloween?! Every year we get the opportunity to express our creativity by dressing up in costumes, making jack-o’-lanterns, and of course, there’s all-time favorite game trick-or-treating.
When it comes to costumes there are always 2 choices, to buy a costume or to make it yourself, and both of them have a good and a bad side. If you don’t have time or you don’t feel creative enough, it is better to buy one, but on the other hand, there is something special in the process of making a Halloween costume.
Schoolteacher, Steve Mckay, enjoyed making Halloween costumes with his mum and dad while growing up, so when he moved to Taiwan 10 years ago, this Canadian decided to bring a part of his culture closer to the world. At first, he started making Halloween costumes to mainly wear them at the Halloween festival in the school he worked at, but soon after he adopted a stray dog, he realized that it would be hilarious to make matching costumes, and that’s how it all started.
Steve and Buster, that’s how Steve named his new best friend, made an incredible duo, and people were delighted, so the only right thing to do was to make it a new family tradition. From then on, every year, Steve makes matching Halloween costumes for them, and year after year they only get better and better.
But within a short period of time, their family got richer for a new member; Steve and his wife decided to adopt another dog, Great Dane mixed. This time it was a girl, they named her Beans, and with this addition to the family, from duo they grew to be a trio.
Take a look at their silly costumes, we couldn’t decide on one so we picked a few just for you. Enjoy.
Steve and his wife found Buster wandering around and decided to adopt him.
“About five years ago, we found Buster wandering around on the street. He was kind of ugly and had some skin problems but also very cute and loved people. He followed us home, and after a few days, we decided to keep him”, Steve said.
InstagramOne year the costume theme was traditional noodle soup.
This duo nailed it, don’t you think? They look adorable.
InstagramBoba tea (Bubble tea) costume was a crowd-pleaser.
Costume themes are oftentimes food-related, and there is a logical explanation for it. Buster is a true foodie, so this is a great inspiration for his dad.
InstagramWhen Beans joined the team, it got even better.
They took dressing up for Halloween to whole another level.
InstagramBuster enjoys Halloween costumes, but Beans on the other hand is not very fond of the whole dressing up game.
As Steve stated “Buster doesn’t mind anything. Sometimes he looks serious in the photos, but that’s only because he is looking at a dog treat. When I made Buster into a dragon boat, he was just like, ‘Guess I’m a boat now … toot, toot.’ And he went cruising around looking for treats. Beans is more difficult. She doesn’t like anything too big, but she is fine with hats, wigs, goggles, and clothing.”
InstagramSome seriously adorable dumplings.
Trio triumphed again with this gorgeous creation, and the best part is that for his creations Steve only uses cardboard, felt, and glue.
InstagramDressing up for Halloween won’t be the same again after this. New standards have been set.
This amazing trio looked very proud of themselves, don’t you agree? The model-like real stars, and certainly steal a show every time they pop up at some Halloween party.
