Getting to know different cultures is great. And implementing the best practices you've encountered in your personal life is even better.
By doing that, we don't just enrich our lives but spread the knowledge to our family and friends. We can learn so much from each other, and thanks to the internet and air travel, it's easier than ever.
Too bad that some people still refuse to learn more about other cultures. There is a difference between being a traveler and a tourist.
Tourists visit only the usual spots, eat fast food from the same fast-food restaurants they have back home, never mix with the locals, and have no desire to learn anything about this wonderful new place they are visiting. A traveler does the opposite (except visiting famous tourist spots- they are famous for a reason).
But besides doing the usual stuff, you should also get to know the local culture, speak and share bread with the locals, try to figure out the local transportation system (and when you do -it's the best feeling ever).
One Reddit user asked a question: "What is one habit from a different culture that you found so good and decided to adopt it to your personal life?" The answers that came in wonderfully depict how fantastic other cultures are. Getting to know them makes us spiritually richer and happier.
