If you're anything like me, you probably grew up watching Unsolved Mysteries on TV. We all sat glued to the television each week as the series covered some of the most fascinating mysteries in history.
The re-enactments were eerie, and the real-life interviews were intriguing to watch. There were crimes of passion, stories of lost love, alien encounters, and sometimes even paranormal events.
But the most captivating thing about all of these mysteries was the fact that they were still unsolved. Some of them had occurred decades earlier, and still, authorities were no closer to finding explanations.
It really gets you thinking, just how many hundreds, thousands, or even millions of unsolved mysteries are there? One Reddit user recently brought up the topic to the r/AskReddit online community.

Some mysteries - crimes in particular - tend to just stay with you over time. It can become consuming when a specific detail resonates with you or perhaps feels a little too close to home.
For example, there were little girls all over Australia in the late 80s and early 90s who were utterly terrified to go to sleep at night in case they were abducted by serial child rapist "Mr. Cruel." Not to mention the horrific murder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, which has had children and parents petrified since it happened in 1996.
