Sometimes, people want dogs that are small enough to cuddle with on their lap, also known as lap dogs. You'd likely find a lap dog in a breed such as a Cocker Spaniel, Bichon Frise, Shih Tzu or a Havanese.

Other people are more likely to want a dog to run, and jump with; a dog that loves physical activity just as much as them. So of course, a person looking for a largely robust dog that will cause people to stare in awe, would be the Great Dane. What else?

However, if families don't do their research properly, they will be utterly shocked to find out that their super-sized, super-active doggo is also a super-lap dog. It's true. Although they may be one of the worlds largest dogs (Zeus the Great Dane broke the world record for being the worlds tallest dog), Great Danes are in love with cuddling on their owners laps and being total love bugs.
