Having a really unique idea is quite rare nowadays, which is why we always assume that someone might've already done the thing we just came up with, which is the exact initial thought, Nikita Orlov, the brilliant artist who created the artworks below, had when he thought it would be fun to "make a centaur from a dog", but he wanted to double check if someone already did it by Googling it, and to his surprise, it had never been done before! 

After that, he decided to make a couple of battledoges and came up with these made up words where these doges could exist and adopt various professions. Soon after that, he found himself with a whole pack of them. After posting them online, people instantly fell in love!
