This is one issue that blew way out of proportion

All domestic cats, including feral, stray, and pet cats, are members of the same species. However, stray cats and feral cats differ greatly from one another in their interactions and relationships with humans.
When we refer to a cat as "socialized," we imply that the cat is accustomed to human company and values it. In fact, a cat has to be socialized in order to become accustomed to human contact, human environments, and human sights, sounds, and smells.
It requires patience and work from kind people and is influenced by a variety of aspects of a cat's life. Cats socialize themselves through engaging with people from an early age by being held, spoken to, and played with.
A kitten will develop a fear of people if she is not accustomed to being held and petted by people during this crucial period. The OP in today’s story is one who loves to feed stray cats in the neighborhood since they had to re-home their elderly dog because their lease agreement didn’t allow pets.
Her husband didn’t like the idea of the stray cats being fed and he told the OP to stop it. He further went on to add that they’d be breaking their lease, to which the OP explained that these stray cats would not be staying in the house nor would they be kept as pets.
Still, it was an issue for the OP’s husband to the extent that he even had to issue a threat.

RedditA stray is a cat that once resided indoors, and had socialization from humans, but has since lost her home, been abandoned, or is otherwise no longer in regular contact with humans. You can’t blame the OP for feeding these stray cats, as they deserve love too.
