Disney Princesses Reimagined As Modern Women In The 21st Century

Mario Oscar Gabriele is the sort of artist you'll want to obsess over.
Mario Oscar Gabriele is an undeniably talented digital artist, there's no doubt about it. Hailing from Italy, this 28-year-old man is quite the Disney fanatic, and we can't blame him (after all, we're huge Disney fans ourselves, right?)
There is truly something special about a Disney fan with a flair for the creative, especially when they have the patience, time, and skills to hone their craft and share their work with the world. Sometimes I think that artists simply don't get enough credit for their contributions to the world throughout history and every day moving forward.
While an artistic hand has touched virtually everything you can see and imagine, it's easy to pretend otherwise. When artists share their work, commissioned or hobby-inspired with the world wide web, they remind us of the potential that creativity continues to offer us.
Today's clever illustrator has been creating works of art, especially Disney-themed, for nearly a decade (though you might look at some of these pieces today and assume he's got far more experience under his belt!) Whether you fall in love with some of the first pieces we show you or find your favorite Heroine (or Villain) later on, we're sure that you'll really get a kick out of Mario's work!

Mario is from Corato, Puglia, Italy. Corato is a town well-known for producing olive oil but it is also "an agricultural and industrial center of the hinterland of Bari."
Corato was founded in 1046, so to say it has a rich history would be an understatement. Their town hall was built in the 16th century as a monastery and although it is now surrounded by more modern buildings, it's easy to assume that there must be an abundance of artistic inspiration to be found everywhere an artist may go.
Mario has also created an exquisite series or two of Disney portraits that surely any Disney fan could fall in love with. Check out a variety of pieces from his Disney heroines series and Disney villains series now:
Of course, we couldn't help but fall in love with the portraits of iconic Disney characters that Mario has created and shared online, but we managed to leave a few for you to find and gawk at even further (including the Disney Heroes series to compliment the Heroines and Villains) when you check out his social media! It's easy to love fan art when you're a Disney fan, and thankfully, there's no shortage of galleries for us to gush over.
