Reimagining Disney Princesses At Their Current Ages

In 2013, Isaque Arêas, a Brazilian artist who loves Disney movies and art, started a special project. It's called "Before and After – Disney Princesses." In this series, he draws Disney characters as they get older gracefully.

This project started because Isaque Arêas was interested in how time affects famous people, especially in movies and TV shows. When he saw actors getting older on screen, he started thinking about what would happen to Disney princesses as they grew up.

He imagined a world where these characters aged along with the people who loved them, becoming artists in their own stories. But at first, Arêas had some trouble making his idea come to life.

Back in 2013, when he first came up with the project, he felt like he wasn't very good at drawing, so he gave up on it. However, the idea stayed with him, and after a while, he felt determined to give it another try.

Isaque Arêas didn't plan to start working on “Before and After – Disney Princesses” again. It just felt right to him.

He wanted to draw Disney princesses because they meant a lot to him when he was a kid. He wanted his drawings to show that everyone, especially women, can find something relatable and empowering in these characters.

As Arêas drew each picture, he thought about how time changes things. He showed the princesses as young and full of energy at first, then as they got older and more mature.

He made sure each drawing felt real and important. Instead of making them less beautiful as they aged, he made them more interesting, showing their personalities grow over time. People of all ages could relate to and appreciate these pictures.

Isaque Arêas felt good seeing how people reacted to his project. He got lots of comments on social media, and it was cool to see how people felt like they could relate to the older princesses.

Some said they looked like their family members, while others felt like they shared a similar journey with the characters. It led to some deep talks about beauty, strength, and getting older.

In his artwork "Before and After - Disney Princesses," Arêas wants us to see getting older as just a normal part of life. He's saying that in our society, we often think that being young is the only way to be beautiful or important.

But by showing princesses growing older, he's saying it's okay to age and that there's value in the experiences we gain as we get older. He wants us to see that Disney characters can be cool at any age, and he hopes we can also feel good about our journey through life, no matter how old we are.

In the future, Arêas wants to keep making more drawings for his “Before and After – Disney Princesses” collection. He wants to show different ways of getting older and tell more stories through his art.

With each picture, he hopes to make people imagine and remember good times. He also wants to help people love Disney princesses even more by showing how special they are.

As he keeps working on this project, Arêas stays focused on his goal of making everyone feel like they can see themselves in these characters, no matter how old they are or where they are in life.
