Sister Gets Jealous When Her Brother Doesn't Get As Excited About Her New Pup As He Was With Their Newborn Nephew
This is one of those moments when a dog parent feels more entitled than they should be.

For some fur parents, their pups are the center of their world. They treat and care for them like they gave birth to the pup themselves.
They do everything in their power to ensure their pups have the best lives in the world. And that's great because dogs deserve nothing less than that.
However, things can go a little sideways when some dog parents demand that people show the same excitement, joy, or love for the pups because while dogs are amazing, we all know that people have different priorities in life. And they're not obligated to react the same way to pups as their owners would.
As it seems though, some people missed that note like the sister of Redditor Fabulous_Cut2966 who got more than a little upset when her brother showed more enthusiasm about the birth of their older sister's new child than her new pup. She not only snapped at her brother but she also stopped talking to him.
Now, Redditor Fabulous_Cut2966 is wondering if he's in the wrong with the way he acted, however, many people in the comments section are also baffled by his sister's behavior. Check out the whole story below and decide for yourself who's in the wrong here.
OP asks:

He was just trying to do the best he could to be a good brother

The little sister was really trying to get her older brother to pay attention to her and her new dog

No matter how frustrated the younger sister gets though, her brother refuses to encourage her behavior

This entire situation is just baffling for so many reasons. First off, who would demand someone to fly across the country just to meet their new puppy, and second, why is the younger sister demanding all these things of her brother?
Is she jealous of the attention the new baby is getting? Is she even going to take care of the puppy?
Whatever it is, people in the comments section are just as baffled by the sister and many are siding with her older brother. Check out the top comments:
1. When getting a dog, you should be sure that you have the means to provide for them and not just make them a wish list

2. Let's hope someone talks some sense into her before the thought even gets to her head

3. The pup maybe better of with someone else who could take care of it better

4. People should never use pets or kids for attention, jeez, that is just wrong

5. There must be a reason behind her behavior

6. There's a big difference between becoming an uncle for the first time and being the relative of someone who got a dog for the first time

7. Kids and pets are just incomparable and the younger sister needs to realize that

8. It's sad that the pup gets "rescued" just to be used for attention-seeking purposes

9. Jen needs to realize that the needs of a baby and the needs of a pup are vastly different and can't be compared to each other

10. Maybe she's really pining for her brother's attention

11. People get attached to their pets but not everyone demands everyone around them pay the same love and affection to their pets

12. Stop her behavior now before it gets way worse

13. The way she degraded her older sister giving birth was also completely uncalled for

14. Instead of looking for a job to earn money like what most adults would do, she got a dog to basically help her beg for money

15. The real victim here would just be the poor dog

16. Some people should never be parents while others should never be dog owners

17. Hopefully, the puppy gets treated right or is handed over to somebody who could actually care for it

18. She's a fully grown adult acting like a 5-year-old child

19. It's not Jen who's going to be in trouble when there comes a need for a vet, it's the poor puppy

20. It's hard not to feel second hand embarrassment because of the little sister's actions

Dogs are special and many people don't just treat them as pets but as part of their family, however, that doesn't excuse the little sister's actions. If she's eager for attention, she should've just looked for another way instead of dragging a poor pup into her antics.
Hopefully, she takes care of the poor pup to the best of her abilities.
