Dog From Virginia Saved A Fawn From Drowning, Then Stayed By Its Side Until Its Mother Appeared

Dogs are considered as one of the most friendly animals in the world, the reason why many people choose to have them as pets. Aside from that, some raise dogs for security, protection, and for therapy purposes.

Each dog is unique in its own way, and it can be determined by its breed, the way it is trained, and its environment. People choose dogs that will fit the kind of personality and lifestyle that they have.

This is how Harley, a Goldendoodle from Virginia, amazed people as his owner shared how he saved a fawn from drowning. His owner also emphasized his dog's kind heart who took care of the baby deer even after they have reached the shore.

The post went viral on Facebook as Ralph Dorn, Harley's owner showed pictures and videos of his dog helping the fawn until it returned to its mother. He was not the only one who's proud of his dog's heroic action, but also the 250,000 users who shared his post.

Ralph was looking for his 6-year-old dog, Harley, one evening after noticing that he was missing. He went looking for him around a lake because he knew that it was one of his dog's favorite places to go.

Upon reaching the lake, he saw that Harley was already paddling 200 feet from the shore, carrying a tiny animal on his side. They were unsure how the fawn ended up there, but Harley was sure he wanted to help as he immediately jumped in the river and saved the baby deer.

In an interview with People, Ralph said, "Harley didn’t want to leave the fawn. He just kept interacting with it, licking it, caring for it. We could tell right away, even as a puppy, he had such a good heart. He has always been like that with children and animals. He loves them all.”

The mother deer showed up and reunited with its baby.

Baby deer came back, and it seems like it's saying thank you and goodbye to Harley.

The mother deer and its baby disappeared after that day. However, the following day, Ralph observed that Harley was restless, so he opened their front door, and that's when they heard the fawn bleating like it was calling Harley to come.

Harley ran into the tree line and found the fawn. The little one stopped bleating, tail wagging, they touched noses sniffed each other and Harley came calmly back to the house with me.

Indeed, humans aren't the only creatures in this world who are capable of being affectionate and kind towards others. Harley, the Goldendoodle therapy dog, had proven that even animals can do it in their own way, too.
