After the video of Pamuk's rescue went viral, a news reporter, Lane Luckie, tweeted, “We’re also seeing examples of pets rescued, like this little dog named “Pamuk.” Sadly, hope for additional rescues will start to fade due to the time that’s passed and the freezing temperatures.”

After Pamuk was rescued, it was sent to Mesin, situated approximately 200 kilometers west of Iskenderun. There, the dog will be cared for by its owner's neighbor till its owner recovers from their injuries.
As reported by the Associated Press, Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, described the recent earthquakes as “one of the greatest disasters our nation has faced in its history."
On a visit to the Adiyaman province, he expressed his commitment to the search-and-rescue operations. He assured the people that work would continue until every individual trapped in the debris was rescued.
According to the UN (United Nations), the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have killed at least 50,000 people.
