Dog Leaves His Owners In Utter Shock After Eating $4000 In Cash

There is an age-old tale about a dog devouring your schoolwork. There are times you might even find them eating your charger, shoes or even your clothes.

However, the proverbial statement suddenly came true for a couple in Pennsylvania, but theirs cost them thousands of dollars. Cecil is the name of Clayton and Carrie Law's dog, and he's the culprit in today's story.

This dog felt it was time for an expensive snack, and this snack happened to be the cash his owner kept for a home renovation job. They left the envelope of cash on the countertop.

According to the Laws, Cecil has never before gotten on the counter in his seven years of existence and is usually more of a cuddly couch potato. This couple in Pennsylvania literally gave the expression "my dog ate my homework" a whole new meaning after their dog gobbled up $4,000 in cash.

The goldendoodle, seven years old, began gorging on the stack of $100 and $50 bills after his owners, Clayton and Carrie Law, allegedly took the money out to pay gardeners. This story is making people laugh and you'll definitely relate to it especially if you're a dog owner.

Mr. Law, who had left the money on the kitchen counter, called out for his partner when Cecil, who they claimed had "never really done anything bad before," took it.

"He was shouting, 'Cecil ate $4,000!'" Mrs Law told the Pittsburgh City Paper. "I ran in, thinking I had to have heard him wrong, but when I saw the mess, there was no doubt," she said.

"I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Cecil had really done it."

After that, the couple recorded the agonizing process of attempting to recover as much money as they could from portions that Cecil had either vomited or had naturally come back (Cecil's poop).

Then, Mrs. Law shared on Instagram that they have so far been able to tape together $3,550 (£2,700) of the money. "There we are at the utility sink washing this s***** money, yelling 'Yay! Yes! We got one!' It smelled so bad," Mrs Law told the local paper.

Luckily, the bank informed the couple that it would return the chewed money as long as the notes' serial number was visible.

"I never thought I'd be able to say I've laundered money, but there is apparently a first time for everything," Mrs Law told The Washington Post. We believe a lot of people can identify with this because, in one way or another, we've all had a pet or child that did something goofy like this.

The worst part of it all is that you just can't be angry with them. All you have to do is love them and correct them in the right way.
