7 Live-Action Disney Film Adaptions Previewed At The D23 Expo

Disney's 2022 D23 Expo was epic, to say the very least. The famous event, which took place from the 9th to 11th of September at the Anaheim Convention Center, was filled with Disney magic and three days' worth of celebrations for Disney fans of all ages.

As always, one of the most exciting parts of the expo was getting a sneak preview of what we have to look forward to from Disney in the next year. And it turns out, what's to come are a lot of new live-action adaptions of our favorite films.

We've all seen the videos circulating on social media of little girls reacting to Halle Bailey in The Little Mermaid trailer. But there are plenty more where that one came from, and we have them all right here.

From Hocus Pocus 2 to Peter Pan & Wendy to Snow White to Disenchanted, it seems that 2023 will be the year of Disney live-action films. And we're not complaining because, well, they look ah-mazing!

If you're a Disney fan - and let's face it, we all are - then you need to see these. Keep scrolling for a list of all the up-and-coming live-action Disney films and their previews from the D23 Expo.

1. Peter Pan & Wendy

Peter Pan & Wendy stars Jude Law, Jim Gaffigan, Ever Anderson, Yara Shahidi, and Alyssa Wapanatahk. We're told this adaption will give more insight into Wendy and her backstory.

2. The Little Mermaid

The live-adaption of The Little Mermaid stars Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Jonah Hauer-King, and more. Playing Ariel is the incredible Halle - that's Halle Bailey, not Halle Berry.

3. Hocus Pocus 2

This long-awaited sequel has been almost 30 years in the making! Hocus Pocus 2 stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy and will be available to watch on Disney+ from September 30th.

4. Snow White

This one is set to be epic! Snow White will feature Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler and will hit screens sometime in 2023.

5. Mufasa: The Lion King

Mufasa: The Lion King, will tell the famous story from the perspectives of Rafiki, Timon, and Pumbaa. It's set to debut in 2024 and looks incredible!

6. Disenchanted

Another long-awaited sequel, Disenchanted will hit Disney+ on November 24. It stars Amy Adams, Maya Rudolph, James Marsden, and Patrick Dempsey.

7. Haunted Mansion

Haunted Mansion features LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, Owen Wilson, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Hasan Minhaj, and more. The spooky film is set to make its debut in 2023.

So, there you have it - seven live-action Disney film adaptions previewed at the D23 Expo. Which one are you looking forward to seeing the most?

We can't wait for Snow White and, of course, The Little Mermaid. Not to mention how incredible Peter Pan & Wendy looks!

How amazing is it that we get to relive these classic films from our childhood, rediscovering them now with our own children who are seeing them for the first time? Keep them coming, Disney - we love your work!
