There's no worse feeling than having something you really like or depend on stolen from you. It never gets easier, no matter how much it happens to you.
Even if replacing the stolen item can be moderately inexpensive, some things have emotional value and can never be truly replaced. It's even worse when you can't afford to get a replacement for the expensive item that was stolen from you.
Thieves have no shame and will take your belongings no matter how much it hurts you. The best way to deal with them is to involve the law and avoid breathing the same air as them.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/worried-college-girl made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how one of her classmates stole her meds while she was visiting her room. The user depends on those expensive meds to function as a human being and can't afford to replace them.
She confronted her classmate about it in her place of work, but her reaction made her doubt how she handled things, so she decided to consult with the Reddit community. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.

Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe classmate refused to admit that she stole the meds and got OP kicked out of her workplace.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe reaction OP's friends had to her interaction with the roommate made her doubt how she handled things.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP thinks she might potentially be the a-hole for the following reason:
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeHere's how the Reddit community reacted to u/worried-college-girl's post:
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe police don't give much importance to on-campus theft.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeFiling a police report would be the only reasonable solution to this problem.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**hole"...time for there to be some real consequences beyond just a classmate showing up at work."
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeStealing something as crucial as meds is worth showing up at someone's place of work.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeMany users are confused why OP refuses to file a police report.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**hole"Actions have consequences and she obviously doesn't care about the people she's stealing expensive meds from.Actions have consequences and she obviously doesn't care about the people she's stealing expensive meds from."
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP should have confronted her classmate privately instead of publicly.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP should ask for a refill and then file a police report.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeEveryone needs to be aware of this person's thievery.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe thief obviously doesn't care about OP's well being considering her reaction.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**hole"You make a big enough stink and you will get reaction."
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP needs to act like an adult and file a police report.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThieves deserve nothing less than that.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**hole"Your friends are young and too stupid to grasp the seriousness of this."
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP should get off Reddit and file an official police report. The classmate is obviously not going to give up those meds, especially if she's dependent on them.
The only solution would be to involve the law to get some justice. If you enjoyed reading this, make sure to check out similar content on our platform.
