Some celebrities are inspired after having children, such as Kelly Clarkson, who has published two books inspired by her daughter, River Rose. Some, like Keith Richards, began writing after the birth of their fifth grandchild.

Others draw inspiration from childhood struggles (such as musician Ricky Martin), social issues (such as actress Lupita Nyong'o), music (such as Pharrell Williams), and love (like Bachelor Nation stars Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon). These authors hope that their readers will learn that, while everyone has fears and insecurities in life, confronting those fears can help make a person's life easier. 

For many celebrities, writing a children's book is more than just a once-in-a-lifetime option. Jamie Lee Curtis, for example, has released at least 13 children's books, and Glee star Chris Colfer has released no less than 15.
