Man Tries To Figure Out Why Is His Cat Suddenly Fascinated With One Wall In His Home And Discovers A Secret Basement That Puts His House In Danger Of Collapsing
This is truly a story with an amazing twist

Cat's senses are perfectly honed for hunting and sensing danger because they are hunter and prey at the same time. Their eyes are highly effective in low-level light, and they are sensitive to fast-moving objects.
Their ears are mobile and are shaped to help locate prey, and they are susceptible to higher-pitched frequencies similar to some rodent vocalizations. In a nutshell, they are surveillance stations that any spy organization would kill for.
Being so sensitive can also be a curse. For them, anything can be a cause for alarm or occupy their attention, even a wall in the dining room.
That's what has happened to Tucker the cat, the main character (and hero) of our story. It all started when his owner, Reddit user TuckerTroubles14, asked for help explaining the animal's behavior on the r/CatAdvice subreddit.
Tucker, you see, became fixated on one particular wall in the guy's home. The online search for answers, however, soon came to a halt.
So the man brought it to life and tore a hole in the wall that occupied where Tucker's attention. One discovery lead to another, and soon the whole story started to resemble the finest mystery novels.
Finally, the OP made a discovery that actually saved his house.
Tucker, a 14-year-old cat, is your typical happy and relaxed cat

But all changed one day, and he became fixated on one particular wall in his owner's home.

He had no behavior problems in the past

And it started...

Tucker became obsessed with that dining room wall

OP observed Tucker

But didn't notice anything unusual about the wall

OP took Tucker to the vet

Tucker was still obsessed

OP was extremely worried

And asked advice from Redditors

It does

Redditors started listing similar problems they had

Most likely there are some animals behind the wall...

Or insects

Maybe Tucker was trying to protect OP

Some people have found entire rat families

OP posted update

It was both relieving and disturbing

OP noticed the wall was cooler in one area

He couldn't wait for the professionals

So he made it into a project

He had cut through the wall

And he found a small, cast iron doorway

He concluded it was from a coal chute

But where is the basement?

A sealed basement under your home is a thing you can’t just let go

OP needed time to decide what to do

And he did

He decided to poke around

He searched for possible basement entrances

And found one under the floor

So he started excavating

He couldn't open the door

And he called a friend over

That basement needed to be explored

His friend helped him get the grate out of the floor

And they could see the inside of the basement

They went down

It was small and old

They explored it for a bit

And they found something really worrying- a buckled wall.

Which got OP thinking

And he figured out the time sequence of events

OP has some thinking to do

And find a contractor

This is so true

It was like reading a mystery novel

Tucker is awesome

Well, this is stuff the finest mystery novels are made of. The story is quite long but has so many unexpected twists that make it incredibly interesting.
The OP is incredibly lucky – his cat saved his house. Cats have a sixth sense.
They also have nine lives, and Tucker wasn’t going to waste one in a collapsing house.
