Now, as useful as the internet has been to humanity, connecting us all like never before and gathering the sum of all our knowledge into one easily accessible place, we all know its true purpose: cat photos. No use trying to convince us otherwise, we know it is true.

Don't get us wrong - we are not complaining. In fact - we love it.

Cats are adorable, charming, and undoubtedly smart, judging by the way they control the internet. Sure, they can be mischievous at times, attacking your houseplants or slapping stuff off the kitchen counter for no apparent reason.

We feel that spending time with criminally gorgeous cats is the best way to turn a good day into a purrfect one. No insult to any of you doggos out there (believe me, I adore you all), but cats are fantastic.

And they never let us forget it, do they? They have a way of getting under our skin that's unmatched.

Maybe it's because of their aloofness. Dogs are always there for us, eagerly waiting for any sign of affection.

Cats, on the other hand, look like they don't give a damn about us, and make us literally beg for a speck of their attention. They will show affection only when they feel like it, and only in amounts that suit them.

When they feel we've had enough, they simply go away to do their thing (which is mostly sleeping). And we love them for all those traits, not despite them.
