Kitty Returns Home With A Message On His Collar That Uncovered His Secret Double Home Life

Nilo is a sweet cat with a secret double life. And recently, this cat was exposed. His owner, Héctor Morales, took him in when he was just a kitten, from a local stray cat litter.

He gave the cat a comfortable and loving home, but also his freedom. He realized that the cat has an adventurous spirit, and he didn't want to confine him.

Because he knew his cat would always return home, he didn't worry at all. But, as the cat got older, his appetites for adventure got larger.

The kitty started spending days out of the house. And Morales wasn't so casual about it anymore.

Every time the cat was missing for a more extended period, he was thinking about starting a search. "He always returns home, like he'd never left," Morales says. "Very calm, and fatter, too."

A few days ago, Nilo returned home from one of his long adventures. This time, with a note attached to his collar

"It was unreal," Morales says.

It turns out that Nilo wasn't such an outdoor type of cat, after all. He had a double life. And he even had another name.

"We are the other family of 'Angelo,'" the note said. "When he's not in your house, he's at ours."

Morales was stunned — and probably felt deceived because Nilo had another family. But soon, the feeling passed.

"When I thought about it, I was grateful that another family cared for him and had even given a name," Morales says.

A couple of days later, the cat was ready to go on one of his adventures again, so Morales decided to write a note to his other family.

"Can you give me your number?" Morales wrote, explaining that they might need each other's phone numbers in case any one of them left on vacation. "PS: Nilo ate tuna before he left."

"Cats decide who they love," Morales explained. "If we love them back, we can't deny them that."
