Scott Hilburn, a cartoonist born in Garland, Texas, U.S.A., graduated with a master's degree in clinical psychological counseling but chose to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an artist. His single-panel series “The Argyle Sweater” has been in syndication for two decades and is considered a prime example of creative style.
His work has been published by the LA Times, NY Daily News, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, and Dallas Morning News. He has always been inspired by pop culture, historical allusions, portrayals of animals, and fairy tale characters in real-world settings, as well as his own life.
His artistry has been influenced by Larson and several New Yorker cartoonists, such as Sam Gross and Tom Cheney. Fascinatingly, Scott was born around the same time as several remarkable and devastating events all around the world, and he was raised near a nuclear weapons testing facility, exposing him to high radiation levels.
His comic series, The Argyle Sweater, is full of absurd scenarios and bizarre humor. As a result, Scott has enough imagination to save the planet using his cartooning and sketching abilities. Intriguingly, these classical artworks are great to see!
